Thirteen suspects from Massachusetts, Vermont, Florida arrested following Massachusetts Police, FBI, operation to address sexual exploitation

An operation performed by authorities has led to the arrest of over a dozen people.

According to police, on Wednesday, members of the Boston Human Trafficking Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit conducted an operation to combat sexual exploitation of women. Officers were joined by partners from the Massachusetts State Police Special Services Section – High Risk Victims Squad, and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.

The operation was conducted in the Massachusetts Avenue area near the South Bay Mall. Undercover Boston Police Officers were utilized to help identify exploiters, traffickers, and sex buyers. Their efforts were to help curb the exploitation within this particular area.

The following individuals were placed under arrest and charged with Sex for a Fee. All of the suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court:

1. Abshir Mohamed, 31, of Roxbury

2. Jose Diaz Belen, 58, of Dorchester

3. David Pingley, 61, of Boston

4. Jose Lopez Rodriguez, 34, of Springfield, Vermont

5. Guillermo Prudencio, 45, of Revere

6. Bruce Weinstein, 68, of Dorchester

7. Timothy Smith, 62, of Dorchester

8. Sumanth Subbanna, 27, of Boston

9. Nacius Magis, 29, of Boston

10. Shawndee Josephs, 27, of Revere

11. Yeison Arias Lara, 33, of Mattapan

12. David Lora, 46, of Milton

13. Jason Armengol, 32, of Jacksonville, Florida. He was also charged with Possession of Class B and had an active warrant for Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order.
