The Nephew’s Restaurant up for sale, issuing gift certificate refunds
A popular local restaurant is up for sale after closing in October due to a death of one of the owners.
In mid-October, Ron Stapleton, died at the age of 65.
Ron’s wife, and co-owner of the restaurant, Sandy Stapleton, took to social media at the time to break the news and give tribute to the man who put so much blood, sweat, and tears into his restaurant.
“It is with a heavy, broken heart that I feel the need to make this very difficult post. My beloved husband and soulmate Ronnie has gone home to be with the Lord. Those of you who knew him knew what a warrior he was. He worked tirelessly 7 days a week, 12 -14 hours a day over the last 26 years to make Nephew’s what it is today. He was the hardest working, kindest, most generous, humble man that you could ever imagine. We worked side by side, and our children and their friends grew up learning from a great man what it means to truly make something out of nothing. He loved the town that continued to support him over the years, and he gave so much to the youth and community. He did so with no reservations…..he and I were just so grateful for the community. Our employees are our extended family, we owe them so very much. We were blessed to have such a supportive dedicated extended family. To all of you who were part of that family over the last 26 years I give my love and sincere thanks. My husband touched so many people over the years…..he was fierce in his determination to make things better for all of you. My children will help me through this difficult time, as they are all as fearless and as strong as he was. He was so proud of them and loved them so much. I ask you all to keep us in your prayers during this extremely difficult time…I am heartbroken, but know he is where he needs to be. He was a true soldier, a bull….he was my rock I will miss him so very much……Thanks for being such a huge part of our lives.”
The restaurant in East Freetown at 2 Crossroad Drive has been closed since Ron Stapleton’s death and the 3.62-acre property has been put up for sale with an asking price of $1,200,000.
Sandy Stapleton is notifying those that have gift certificates that they can get a refund this weekend.
“As many of you know, Nephews is up for sale. This has been a very tough decision for our family to make, but I know it is the right thing to do. I will be at the restaurant from 1-3 on Saturday (Dec 18) and 1-3 Sunday (Dec 19) to exchange any unused gift certificates you may have. Please share this with anyone you know who may be interested. Once again, I want to thank all of you for 25+ years, during which we have met so many people, many of whom I now call “friends”. The memories will last forever 💕 Sandy and the entire Stapleton family.”

I want to express my sympathy on the loss of your Loved One. Your husband, yourself and family will always be remembered as caring people who loved their community and the people who lived in it.
I heard too late of the gift certificate refunds. I was hoping someway it would be possible that I may still be able to receive a refund. The certificate was from my son for my birthday. It would be greatly appreciated!
My friends and I will miss the fun times and wonderful food at Nephews.
Sincerely,
Rebecca
