The Liberal Club in Fall River announces they are not closing, but changes are coming

A Fall River club announced Wednesday that changes are coming but confirmed that they are not closing.

In a social media post, The Liberal Club on Star Street stated that soon the restaurant inside will be changing.

“There has been some confusion, The Liberal Club is NOT closing.

“While the current restaurant will be closing as of June 30, the club itself remains open and active.

“We want to take a moment to recognize and thank the restaurant for 50+ incredible years of service, memories, and dedication. They have been a special part of the Liberal Club’s story, and their impact will not be forgotten.

“Looking ahead, the Liberal Club already has plans in place to continue offering a restaurant experience. This is not the end—it is a transition into a new chapter.

“The Liberal Club has always been a cornerstone of our community, and that is not changing. We truly appreciate your continued support and look forward to what is ahead.

“Please note, our bar remains open, and the restaurant will continue operating through June 30.

“We invite you to stop by, enjoy, and spend some time with us—we’d love to see you.”

Bens Foods, which is inside the Liberal Club, also took to social media to make an announcement.

“This is not an easy post to write.

“What started as a small family business grew into something far beyond what we ever imagined. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of serving generations of families here in Fall River watching children grow up, bring in their own children, and create traditions around our tables.

“You welcomed us into your lives, and in many ways, you became part of our family too.

“There are so many memories, busy Friday nights, familiar faces walking through the door, conversations that picked up right where they left off, and the simple joy of sharing a meal together. That’s what made this place special. It was never just about the food, it was about all of you.

“We are deeply grateful for your loyalty, your support, and the relationships we’ve built over the past five decades. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and your celebrations, big and small.

“As we close this chapter on June 30th, we do so with full hearts and immense gratitude.

“We hope you’ll stop in over the coming weeks to share a memory, a meal, and a proper goodbye.

“From our family to yours, thank you for 51 unforgettable years.”

The Liberal Club has been around for over 110 years offering drinks, a jukebox, lottery, and fun weekly events, and it appears they will be around for years to come.
