Budtender/Patient Advocate – Northeast Alternatives: Marijuana Dispensary
$16 an hour

Northeast Alternatives, Inc. (NEA) is a premier cannabis provider in the City of Fall River, MA. At NEA, an amazing customer experience is our ultimate goal. We offer premium and economical cannabis options for all our customers and we are constantly expanding our product selection.

NEA is looking to add qualified, exceptional salespeople to our existing team. We are looking for motivated, independent sales professionals who are passionate about serving patients/customers in the cannabis industry as we prepare to enter the adult-use market in MA.

Hourly pay:
Dependent on experience and qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Presence – Must be positive and welcoming.
• Sales Expertise – Must be able to assist customers in selecting the best products for their needs by providing a comprehensive overview of our product selection to new customers.
• Product Knowledge – Must be familiar with the variety of methods used for cannabis consumption. Meet and exceed customer expectations for service. Effectively address customers concerns and complaints. Be professional in appearance, actions and verbal communications.
• Organization and Cleanliness – Ensure cleanliness. Keep your station stocked and organized. Example: paper bags, stickers, writing utensils, counterfeit pens, etc. Keep the retail store clean and organized. Example: Display cases are kept clean and replenished.
• Customer Service – Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; and meets commitments.
• Cooperation – Establishes and maintains effective relations; exhibits tact and consideration; offers assistance and support to co-workers; works cooperatively in group situations; and works actively to resolve conflicts.
• Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts the success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed. All budtenders will be cross-trained and will have receptionist duties as well, typically up to one shift per week.
• Ethics – Treats people with respect; works with integrity and principles; and upholds organizational values.
• Organizational Support – Follows policies and procedures assigned by Retail Director; and supports organization’s goals and values.
• Other duties as assigned by the Retail Director

Qualitfications:
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of our organization.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 1O’s and 1OO’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of US Currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a resume that demonstrates how all the duties and responsbilities, competencies and qualifications are met. Spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply. Local applications appreciated!!!
• Experience is not a must but it is a major bonus.

REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 21+ years old
• Ability to pass a detailed criminal background check and no criminal record
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Positive attitude and great team player
• Excellent customer service
• Organizational and communication skills
• Committed to maintaining full product knowledge across our menu
• Ability to learn and use Point of Sale technology
• Knowledge of and compliance with state cannabis laws
• Ability to generate referral contacts

Experience:
• Registered Marijuana Dispensary: 1 year (Preferred)
• Cannabis Specific: 1 year (Required)
• Retail Sales: 1 year (Required)
