A Massachusetts man who has served our country has received a big PickMeUp to continue to better himself for his family.

According to Veterans Inc., they recently had the true honor of witnessing one of their Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program clients, Juan Ortega, receive a vehicle from Second Chance Cars — a life-changing gift for a truly deserving veteran.

Veterans Inc. issued the following statement:

“Juan served in the U.S. Army and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Puerto Rico for over a decade. When he moved to Fall River to seek better medical care for his son, he was told he had to start from the bottom despite his experience.

“Through his journey, Juan has shown unwavering resilience and humility. With the support of Veterans Inc., and his HVRP advocate Christopher Main, he enrolled in online English courses to improve his communication skills & enhance his employment opportunities.

“Juan has expressed nothing but gratitude throughout this entire process, and it was truly moving to see him take this next step toward stability and independence.

“Thank you to our incredible partners at Second Chance Cars, Inc. for helping make this moment possible.”
