Tequila Lime Cantina in Fall River to close temporarily, transitioning to new ownership
Tequila Lime Cantina a well-established Mexican restaurant at 197 Bank Street in Fall River has announced a change in ownership.
A social media post by current owner Christina Catelli revealed the change, what’s ahead, and how it all began.
“It has been such an honor to serve you for 14 years. I am now transitioning away from the day-to-day operations of Tequila Lime Cantina. While I am definitely not retiring, I am excited to switch gears and focus on projects I am deeply passionate about, as well as my short and long-term rentals and, most importantly, spending more time with my beloved 2-year-old granddaughter.
“I am so pleased and honored to announce that the business will now be owned & led by my good friend, Nicholas Ozug. Many of you know Nick as the owner of The Brewhouse District (https://thebrewhousedistrictfr.com/) on South Main Street. As a 20 -Plus year veteran of Fall River’s hospitality scene, Nick shares my deep love for this community. He is a devoted family man, father of 4 small children. I have 1,000% confidence in the energy and experience he is bringing to Tequila Lime Cantina, and he will be operating both locations moving forward.
“Where it All Began
“Tequila Lime was born on Cinco de Mayo 2013. It was my son Jordan’s vision to bring a unique, scratch-made Tex-Mex experience to our area. With Jordan’s leadership, alongside Chef Estuardo Guzman and eventually joined by our incredible chef of 13 years, Orlando Guthrie, we built more than just a restaurant; we built a gathering place known for fresh food, warm service, and incredible energy.
“We were so proud to be the first to introduce our famous avocado fries, fresh-squeezed lime margaritas, and our award-winning white bean chicken chili to the area. When Jordan moved to Florida in 2015 to pursue his construction business, It was my honor to step in to keep that spirit alive and to nurture the special bond that defines our Tequila Lime family.
“With Endless Gratitude
“To my sons, Jordan and Ryan, and my dear family and friends: thank you for your constant support through every season of this journey. I feel deeply blessed and grateful to the Good Lord for carrying me through it all; I truly could not have done this without Him or you.
“To our staff, past and present: you weren’t just employees; you were a unique family. You were instrumental in building the heart and soul of Tequila Lime, and I am endlessly grateful for each of you. To Chef Orlando: with your 13-year dedication, we were able to build something special. Thank you!
“To our many customers and everyone who supported us behind the scenes: To those who shared your time and talents during our many events and makeovers, or simply showed up whenever we needed you… please know that you helped shape what Tequila Lime became. This place has and will always be about community, and it exist because of the many hands and hearts that supported us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to be part of your lives for 14 years. It has been a true privilege.
