A teenage girl is fighting for her life after what appears to be a horrible accident.

According to multiple reports, a call came into dispatch at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday concerning a pedestrian struck by a hayride tractor-trailer at Seven Cedars Farm in Smithfield.

It was determined that a 14-year-old who was working at the haunted hayride as an actor became stuck underneath the trailer. The vehicle had to be lifted to pull her out according to WJAR10.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

The farm announced Saturday that they closed early and would refund all tickets that were not used. Then also issued a statement on social media on Sunday.

“We regret to inform you that we will be closed for the remainder of our haunted hayride season due to an accident that occurred to one of our actors last night. All tickets purchased online for tonight 10/29 will automatically be refunded.

“First of all, we are absolutely devastated by this incident, and we want to send our thoughts and prayers to the actor and her family involved. We are completely heartbroken over this, and we hope she has a speedy recovery!

“Secondly, we want to thank the town of Smithfield Fire and Police departments for their quick response and providing the necessary care for her.

“Thirdly, we want to thank all of our staff last night for their hard work and the care they gave to this young girl. We are so grateful for you all and we appreciate everything you have done for our family this season! Without you this wouldn’t be possible. You are in our thoughts, and we are here for you if you need us!

“Lastly, we want to send a HUGE thanks to everyone who came out this season and previous years to our haunted hayride and for all of the love and support you’ve shown to our family! It’s unfortunate that our season had to end like this. For those who were here last night, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we tended to the incident. We apologize that we had to stop the hayride, but we felt like it was the right thing to do and there was no way we could have carried on after that. We apologize to those on the wagon itself who had to witness this incident and are truly grateful to those who stepped in to help at the scene.

“We hope you all enjoy the rest of the season, and we wish you all a Happy Halloween.”

The incident is under investigation.
