Taunton police looking for man in machete attack of woman, dog
According to Taunton police, on September 18, a male party attacked a dog outside of a residence in the area of 21 Church Street in Taunton. Witnesses reported a male subject attacking a woman and her dog.
The suspect was described as a male party dressed in black with tattoos on his neck. When officers arrived, the witnesses stated that the male party was screaming “I’m going to kill this ****ing dog.
The attacker had a machete. During the attack on the dog the female owner sustained many wounds from the machete. The female victim was taken to Morton Hospital by a friend and has not cooperated in the investigation.
Detectives from the Taunton Police Department have identified the suspect and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.
Taunton Police Detectives along with the Violent Fugitive Task Force have been attempting to locate him but have been unsuccessful.

Thomas Vargas is facing charges of: (1) Animal Cruelty and (2) Assault and Battery by means of a dangerous Weapon (machete).
