Taunton Police looking for armed home invasion suspect
On May 3rd at 8:42 p.m., the patrol division of the Taunton Police Department responded to a reported home invasion at 80 Staples Street East Taunton.
The homeowner reports that after answering a knock at the front door an unknown male forced his way into the residence. The homeowner stated that the male was armed with a black handgun. The homeowner reported that the male entered the living room where he took her purse and ordered her into the bathroom. The homeowner then stated that the male took her cordless telephone, keys and left the residence and area by stealing her vehicle from the driveway.
The homeowner described the male as approx. 5’7-5’8, medium build, and wearing a black mask, gloves, dark shirt and possibly khaki’s.
The vehicle taken, a 2004 Toyota Camry, was located a short time later in front of 30 Seekell Street, East Taunton. The vehicle was towed by police for processing.
The case has been forwarded to the Taunton Police Department Detective Division for continued investigation. Anyone who might have witnessed the incident, or otherwise has information regarding this crime, is encouraged to contact the Taunton Police Detective Division @ (508) 821-1475.
