Taunton Police investigating after 11-year-old medflighted after being struck by vehicle
TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Monday in the area of 285 Whittenton Street.
At 7:20 p.m., first responders received multiple 911 calls reporting that a child was struck by a motor vehicle on Whittenton Street, between Fourth and Fifth avenues.
Upon arrival, officers called for a medical helicopter to take the 11-year-old to a local hospital.
The operator of the motor vehicle that struck the child remained on scene and provided a statement to investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by the Taunton Police Department.
