Taunton Police Department investigating after 27-year-old injured in shooting

TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening.

At just before 11:00 p.m., Taunton Police received a report of a man who had been shot on East Britannia Street.

Shortly after officers arrived on scene, the 27-year-old victim showed up at Morton Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

The injuries to the man are not believed to be life-threatening.

The investigation into this incident by the Taunton Police Detective Division remains active and ongoing.

The department does not believe there to be an ongoing threat to public safety.
