Taunton police defuse gun situation, make one arrest
On May 5th at 10:46 a.m., a resident of 30 Bettsy Road called 911 and reported that someone had threatened her with a gun.
The patrol division of the Taunton Police Department responded and established a perimeter around the home and ensured the safety of nearby residents. The reporting person exited the home and stated that there were five people still inside the home with the gun. Taunton Police ordered the occupants of the home outside. All occupants complied.
A subsequent search of the home recovered five weapons which upon closer inspection were revealed to be pellet guns. The recovered pellet guns are shown below.
As a result of the incident, one person was taken into custody and charged with: Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Contact.
