Taunton Police arrest student for making threats
Taunton Police have made an arrest involving threats and a student.
According to authorities, on November 1st, the Taunton School Department was made aware that a Taunton High School student had made a threat toward other students on the evening of October 31.
Upon learning of the alleged threats, the Taunton School Department and the Taunton Police Department immediately launched an investigation according to police. As a result of the investigation, the juvenile student who made the alleged threats was quickly arrested at his home on Thursday afternoon and charged with making threats toward other students. The juvenile was reportedly taken into custody without incident.
The parents of the students who were threatened were contacted and advised of the investigation, and it was determined that there was no immediate threat to any students.
A social media post had been circulating concerning the incident which Taunton PD stated was inaccurate. “The safety of all students is the top priority of the Taunton School Department and the Taunton Police Department.”
