Taunton man who died from injuries in Westport incident is being remembered as services, online fundraiser announced
A local man who died from injuries sustained at a business in Bristol County is being remembered.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office stated that 49-year-old Mark Peters of Taunton died Friday from a crushing injury to his lower extremities at his workplace, Mid City Scrap, located at 548 State Road in Westport, MA.
According to an obituary, Mark was a tremendous husband and father. Mark and his wife Grace have been together for 22 years, married for 17. “Then 13 years ago Mark’s best bud was born, Gabe.”
“Mark was the kind of guy that wore the PJs for the holiday photo shoot and was always up for the family Halloween costume. Grace, Gabe and Mark all had their regular routines. Grocery shopping together, dinner, and some great vacations. Mark worked hard for the family because they were his world. Mark’s life was about caring as much as he could, loving as much as he could and taking very little. He has been taken far too soon and has left a giant hole in the hearts of so many.”
Mark’s graveside funeral service will be held at Temple Israel of Brockton Cemetery, 1000 Pearl Street, Brockton, MA on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11AM. Shiva will be observed at the home of Marlene Peters, on Thursday from 4 PM – 8 PM, Friday 10 AM – 6 PM, Saturday 5:30 PM – 8 PM, and Sunday 10 AM – 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers consider donating to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 ADANewEngland@diabetes.org or to Grace and Gabriel’s GoFundMe fundraiser.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing but does not appear to be suspicious.
