A local man wanted for an attempted kidnapping has been captured.
According to police, on Monday evening, Fall River Detectives apprehended Marc Pierre.
Pierre was wanted on a charge of kidnapping by the Providence Police Department.
On Wednesday, Pierre allegedly attempted to abduct a 10 year girl on Nashua Street in Providence.
The girl managed to escape and Providence Police Officers were notified and responded to the incident.
That evening, Providence Police Detectives conducted an investigation that concluded with a warrant being issued for Pierre.
According to Go Local Prov, the juvenile had just gotten off the bus when a black van had pulled up, and a man got out of the passenger side. She then said that the man “violently” grabbed her and attempted to pull her inside the van. She injured her face after falling to the ground when escaping, and then ran to a nearby business.
Pierre will be held in Fall River while awaiting an extradition hearing.
