DARTMOUTH, MA – On Friday, members of the Dartmouth Police Department served an arrest warrant on Andrew Whitehorn, 48, of Petersburg, Alaska at the Baymont Hotel.
During the investigation that followed, officers learned that Whitehorn had a firearm in his vehicle. Because Whitehorn was not licensed to carry a firearm in Massachusetts, detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and several rounds of ammunition.
Whitehorn was subsequently charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card, and improper storage of a firearm.
According to Chief Brian P. Levesque: “As a result of the outstanding collaborative effort between patrol, K-9, and detectives, an illegally possessed firearm was taken off of the street.”

We don’t issue FOIDs or require ID to purchase or possess ammunition.
Perfect example of two situations, A) KNOW the laws of the state you are traveling into or through, B) Follow those rules.
I do not like the idea of 50 different entities ( plus their sub entities) having different regulations for our 2nd Amendment right, but until the Supreme Court sees its way to correct this travesty to Justice, we will have to accept and adjust.
