Swansea, Somerset, and Freetown officials combine to arrest Fall River and Acushnet men
Two men, including one from Fall River, were arrested by multiple agencies after a bust.
According to Swansea Police, on Thursday, members of the Swansea Police Detective Division, along with Somerset Detectives, Freetown K-9 Officer, and members of the Swansea Police Patrol Division conducted a search warrant execution at the Rodeway Motor Inn, 999 G.A.R Highway.
The target of the search warrant was Jose Cruz, 39, of Fall River. The lead investigator, Swansea Detective Jonathan Boyd, obtained a search warrant to search Cruz’s room #124. Upon execution of the warrant, officers also encountered Steven P. Farias of Acushnet in the room.
During the search and subsequent arrests, 225 bags of suspected fentanyl, Drug processing/packaging tools/paraphernalia, and $1253 cash were seized.
Farias was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class A substance (Subsequent offense).
Cruz was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Class A substance (Subsequent offense), and Possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute.(Subsequent offense).
