Swansea Police investigating after thousands of dollars’ worth of items stolen from music store
SWANSEA — Chief Marc Haslam reports that the Swansea Police Department is investigating a break-in at a local business that occurred late Sunday night.
On Sunday, Dec. 18 at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to Ray Mullin Music, 103 Swansea Mall Drive, for a burglar alarm.
Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the front door. Officers conducted a sweep of the store, but did not locate anyone inside. Through a subsequent on-scene investigation, police determined that several thousand dollars’ worth of high-end guitars were stolen.
Swansea detectives also responded to the scene and reviewed the store’s video surveillance. On the surveillance footage, two suspects were observed prying open the front door with a crowbar, entering the store and taking several guitars.

The suspects were dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered. They are believed to have fled in a dark-colored compact SUV.
