Massage therapist in Swansea arrested on indecent assault charges
Swansea Police have arrested a massage therapist for alleged incidents inside a spa in town.
According to Lieutenant Marc Haslam, on April 30, 2019 the Swansea Police arrested Frank P. Ferdinand Jr, 59, of Onset Massachusetts charging him with two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person 14 or Older.
Swansea Police Detectives Keith Chomka and Jonathan Boyd opened an investigation following a report of a massage therapist who had inappropriately touched a customer during a massage. Ferdinand is a self-employed massage therapist who operates out of Harmony Day Spa located at 443 Wilbur Ave, Swansea, MA. Ferdinand is not an employee of Harmony Day Spa but only rented space at the facility. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned of an additional victim who also reported being inappropriately touched by Ferdinand during a massage.
Ferdinand was subsequently arrested and is scheduled to be arraigned at Fall River District Court on May 1, 2019.
The Rhode Island and Massachusetts Board of Registration of Massage Therapy were notified of the arrest.
