Swansea man facing several charges after allegedly tasing man over trailer blocking driveway in Fall River
Fall River Police arrested a Swansea man after a reported altercation that took place on Saturday.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 5:00 p.m., multiple units responded to the 100 block of Whipple Street in response to a report of a fight.
Upon arrival, officers encountered two individuals who stated that they had been engaged in a physical altercation with two males.
According to the victims, the incident began over a trailer which was parked on the street blocking a driveway.
During the argument, 50-year-old Christopher Novo is alleged to have removed a taser from his pocket and lunged at one of the males with it. This led to the physical altercation. One of the men stated that Novo tased him in the abdomen during the incident.
Based on statements made by the victim and witnesses, Novo was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (taser), assault and battery, and carrying a firearm without a license.
At his arraignment on Monday, Novo pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.
