Swansea man dies from injuries sustained in multi-vehicle crash on I-195

A crash that took place in Swansea on Tuesday morning has turned fatal.

According to the Swansea Fire Department, firefighters responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on I-195, in which one vehicle rolled over.

Crews worked to remove the vehicle’s roof to safely access and extricate the patient.

The patient was treated and transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Swansea Ambulance. A second patient was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by a Seekonk Ambulance.

According to family, Carl Evans III later died from his injuries.

Evans was being remembered as the life of the party. Always making people laugh and happy.

The crash is under investigation.
