Swansea Fire Department battles Wednesday morning fire
Swansea Fire Department battled a fire Wednesday.
According to the Swansea Fire Department, at 8:19 a.m. this morning, Swansea Fire received a call of a possible electrical fire at a home on Second Street. Arriving firefighters found a fire in the basement with heavy smoke throughout the building.
An aggressive attack was made, at times hindered by the live electrical service still powering the home. SFD stated that once National Grid terminated service, firefighters continued chasing hot spots and performing overhaul at approximately 9:30 a.m..
Town coverage was provided by the Warren (RI) Fire Department where they had an engine at Station 2 on New Gardner’s Neck Road.
Swansea fire responded with the regualr working fire assignment of three engines (E-1, E-2, E-3). L-1, and R-1. C-2 was in command.
No injures were reported.
The fire’s cause is under investigation.
