Some good news for Joseph Estrela and the fans of his planned entertainment complex.

According to owner and president Estrela and South Coast Today, Silver Stone Castle Family Entertainment complex could be open by July and town administrators say approvals could be completed by that time frame.

At a Swansea town meeting in May, the majority of voters approved a zoning change that allowed the expansion of the complex and Estrela’s vision to become reality.

Estrela was happy with the meeting result. “The meeting went very well. We received the ruling that we needed and we can proceed without any issue.” Work had been taking place at the property at 358 G.A.R. Highway earlier in the year. They had started the clean up and demolition needed for the space for the building.

Estrela states that the construction has currently been taking place off site with the building being able to get put up in eight to 10 weeks.

The complex will be a medieval castle full of family entertainment.

The 3-5 million dollar 80,000 square foot complex will contain fun for all ages including a two story go cart track, laser tag arena, bumper cars, dance floor, stage for musical acts, and an area for pub style food. Part of an 8,000 square foot indoor heated pool will have a cathedral ceiling. Estrela is also considering having kayaking available in the river.

Estrela was in front of the Board of Selectmen at the end of January for an All Alcohol On Premise license.
