A Swansea Chinese restaurant that has been in business for decades is closing.

Hoy Tin Restaurant located at 630 Grand Army of the Republic Highway (Route 6), has been offering classic Chinese cuisine in a casual setting for 50 years.

It’s been a local favorite for affordable, generous portions. Popular menu items include the chow mein sandwich, chop suey sandwich, General Tso’s chicken, crab rangoon, pork fried rice, and lo mein, The menu has also featured specialties such as beef with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and seafood options like shrimp with lobster sauce, alongside soups, appetizers, and vegetarian choices.

According to a friend of Ben Wong, who operates the eatery, Hoy Tin’s kitchen has closed with the bar remaining open for friends and family until the new year.

It is currently unclear what will become of the property as its expected to be put up for sale.
