A unique local eatery has announced that they are closing their doors.

The Jitterbug Cafe is a charming, retro-style breakfast and lunch spot located at 1635 GAR Highway (Route 6) in Swansea.

Owned by Linda Gorman Farias, it opened in August 2024 in the former One Horse Pizzeria space, transforming the site into a cozy “throwback cafe” with a 1950s vibe.

The cafe has doubled as a platform for local artists and crafters, featuring their handmade goods for sale alongside the cafe.

According to a social media post, due to unforeseen circumstances, The Jitterbug’s last day of operations will be Sunday 12/21.

The post thanked customers for their support “during this difficult time.”

“You will all be missed!”

It is currently unclear what will take the place of the cafe.
