Suspect ordered to be hospitalized for competency to stand trial in Bristol County murder of Peter Schifone

A judge made a ruling in Fall River Superior Court on Monday morning concerning a Bristol County murder.
37-year-old Adam Walker, who has a last known address in East Providence, RI, was ordered to be hospitalized for 20 days at Bridgewater State Hospital to determine competence to stand trial.
North Attleboro Police responded to 64 High Street on May 26, 2021, around 4:00 p.m. for a reported shooting incident. When first responders arrived at the apartment building, they located the victim inside his apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, Peter Schifone, a 38-year-old North Attleboro man, was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Walker was taken into custody in Swansea by members of District Attorney Quinn’s Massachusetts State Police Unit, investigators with the North Attleboro Police Department and Swansea Police. He was charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.
Walker is expected back in court next month concerning competency, and has a tentative trial date scheduled for May 19th, 2025.
