Suspect dead on Route 6 after officer involved shooting
A man has died after an exchange of gunfire with police on Sunday.
A suspect allegedly fired shots at officers this morning while being pursued in Seekonk.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn stated just before 11:30 a.m. that State Police detectives and prosecutors are on scene in Seekonk investigating a fatality near the intersection of Route 6 and School Street.
Seekonk Police warned just after 8:00 a.m. that there was an active scene in the same area and traffic was being detoured away from the scene.
The name of the suspect who has died has not yet been released.
Seekonk Police say that no officers were injured in the incident.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has issued an update on the incident.
