Fall River Police arrested an armed robbery suspect with some help from the victim.

According to Detective John Robinson, on January 7th, Officers of the Fall River Police Departments Uniform Division were dispatched to a complaint of an armed robbery at the Sunset Hill Variety located on Bowen Street. While en-route, Officers Rory McCoomb and Andre DeMelo were advised that the owner had chased the suspect out and had her pinned on the ground in the middle of the Sunset Hill Housing Complex located at 351 Charles Street.

Three rows up from Bay Street, Officer McCoomb was able to locate a male on top of another person. As Officer McCoomb approached, who was now assisted by Officer DeMelo, the male stood up and backed away from the female.

As Officer McCoomb and DeMelo handcuffed the female, a wrench fell out of her pocket.

The 33 year old victim told Officer McCoomb that the female he was holding on the ground entered his store and demanded money. The owner stated that she claimed she had a gun while holding her hand in her pocket. The female walked behind the counter, removed money from the register, and left the store.

The female, now identified as Tara Ketzler age 35 of 331 Sunset Hill, was taken into custody on a charge of Armed Robbery.
