State Police report fatal pedestrian incident on Route 95 that killed 33-year-old; release results of investigation

A man is dead after a pedestrian highway crash on Tuesday, authorities say.

According to Rhode Island State Police, at just after 9:30 p.m., the Rhode Island State Police and Warwick Fire and Rescue responded to calls of a pedestrian being struck on the highway on Route 95 south in Warwick.

Troopers arrived on scene and after further investigation revealed that a 33-year-old man from San Benito, Texas, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling southbound. In the area of Route 37 the man exited the vehicle while in motion and was consequently struck by several other vehicles.

The man died as a result of his injuries.
