State Police locate body of missing Massachusetts man that got into ride share vehicle
The body of a missing Massachusetts man has been recovered by Massachusetts State Police.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, the body of missing Lynn man Dickson “Joel” De Los Reyes has been recovered by the State Police Underwater Recovery Unit in marshland along Route 107 in Revere.
Evidence indicates that De Los Reyes got into a LYFT ride share vehicle in front of 168 Shurtleff St., Chelsea, at 3:42 AM on Sunday, June 11. The LYFT ride was terminated at approximately 3:56 AM on the same date. Upon termination of the ride, De Los Reyes’ cell phone number dialed 911 and was connected to Revere Police. The call disconnected and several attempts to call the number back by police were unsuccessful. Evidence indicates the call was made from the area of American Legion Highway in Revere. De Los Reyes had not been seen nor heard from since.
MSP divers made the recovery shortly after 8:30 PM, after a State Police Air Wing flight crew conducting an aerial search observed De Los Reyes’ body in the Rumney Marsh Reservation.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of De Los Reyes and will conduct a post-mortem examination.
State Police began searching for De Los Reyes late yesterday afternoon.
The investigation into the facts and circumstances of De Los Reyes’ death is ongoing and is being conducted by the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County.
