State Police, local police, issue update after discovery of dead body found near beach

The Jamestown Police Department in coordination with the Rhode Island State Police, have provided an update regarding the discovery of a body near Heads Beach on August 10th in Jamestown. 

The deceased has been identified as a white male, estimated to be between 60 and 70 years old. At this stage of the investigation, there are no signs of foul play, and nothing appears suspicious. 

Investigators are working to confirm the preliminary identification of the individual. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
