State Police investigating after Massachusetts man killed in fatal motorcycle crash
A Massachusetts man has been killed in serious crash.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday evening, Troopers assigned to the State Police-Weston Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the Massachusetts Turnpike eastbound in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. The crash resulted in the death of the operator.
Preliminary investigation indicates the operator of a 2005 Harley Davidson lost control and struck the median traveling eastbound on the Mass Pike. The operator was identified as Mark Ganong, 54, of Waltham. Ganong was pronounced dead at the scene.
The left lanes of the Mass Pike in the east and westbound directions were closed in the area of the crash until approximately 2:30 a.m. while the crash investigation was conducted.
The crash remains under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police-Weston with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit. Boston Fire, Boston EMS, and the Office of the Medical Examiner assisted at the crash scene.
