State Police, FBI, New York City Police, arrest 46-year-old Rhode Island man wanted for murder

A local man is in custody after being a suspect in a homicide.

According to Rhode Island State Police, on Thursday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York City Police Department, arrested 46-year-old Antonio Jimenez of North Providence, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive From Justice from the State of New York for Murder – First Degree.

The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Jimenez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice at Sixth Division District Court.

Court records show that at arraignment he did not enter a plea and was held without bail.

No other details on the case were released.

A fugitive hearing is scheduled for July 22nd.
