State Police arrest three New York men on numerous larceny charges in multiple communities
Three men from out of state have been arrested on charges involving multiple communities.
According to Rhode Island State Police, on Monday at 5:30 p.m., members of the State Police, with the assistance of the North Kingstown Police Department and the South Kingstown Police Department arrested three men from New York for numerous charges related to a series of larcenies in Smithfield, Lincoln, and Central Falls.
Initially, the Smithfield Police Department broadcasted a bolo at 4:30 p.m. for a vehicle involved in a larceny of iPhones and Apple watches from a T-Mobile store in their town. At 5:00 p.m. the Central Falls Police Department broadcasted a bolo for the same vehicle involved in another larceny of iPhones and Apple watches from a T-Mobile store in Central Falls. At 5:15 p.m. a Trooper observed the suspect vehicle on Route 95 south and followed it onto Route 4. The vehicle then exited onto Route 102 North and turned onto South Road in the Town of Exeter, where several Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle then crashed after a brief pursuit and the three occupants fled on foot into a wooded area near the Veteran’s Cemetery.
Members of the State Police, North Kingstown Police, and the South Kingstown Police Department set up a perimeter around this wooded area and began to search for the suspects. The three suspects surrendered a short time later upon the approach of two State Police K9 Units.
Boubakar Toure, age 22, of Manhattan, NY, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods over $1500 – Three Counts, Eluding/Reckless Driving, Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty, Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Warwick Police Department for Receiving Stolen Property Fugitive from Justice out of Rockingham Sheriffs Police Department in New Hampshire for Receiving Stolen Property.
Souleyman Magas, age 19, of New York NY, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods over $1500 – Three Counts and Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty.
Lacine Cisse, age 21, of New York, NY, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods over $1500 – Three Counts and Obstruction of an Officer in Execution of Duty – Two Counts.
The three men were held overnight at State Police Headquarters and arraigned in 4th District Court this morning. All three were held on $5,000 with surety and Toure was also held as a Fugitive from New Hampshire.
