State Police arrest three allegedly speeding over 110 mph on area highways in separate incidents
On Friday night the State Police arrested three drivers in separate incidents for traveling at a speed in excess of 100 miles per hour.
“There is zero tolerance for reckless and dangerous speeding on Rhode Island’s highways,” said Colonel Darnell S. Weaver, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety. “When someone chooses to drive more than 100 miles per hour, they are gambling with lives—not just their own, but those of innocent motorists. Our message is clear: if you drive at these dangerous speeds, expect to be stopped, arrested when appropriate, and held accountable.”
Shaun Shultz, age 21, of West Warwick was arrested for Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety – 1st Offense. He was stopped on (Route 117). He was traveling at 113 MPH.
Shultz was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court on August 21, 2026.
Jaden Nasif, age 23, of Providence, Rhode Island, for Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety – First Offense and Driving After Suspension of License – Fourth and Subsequent Offense. He was arrested on Route 95 North in Warwick. He was traveling at 111 MPH.
Nasif was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending presentment as a probation violator in Third Division District Court on August 3, 2026.
Cali Storm Machado, age 18, of Richmond, Rhode Island was arrested for Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety – First Offense. He was arrested on Route 95 South in West Greenwich. He was traveling at 120 MPH.
Storm Machado was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court on August 7, 2026.
