State Police arrest Providence man on list of drug, gun charges, after 3 firearms, 8 large capacity magazines, approx. 671 grams of Cocaine,17 kilos of Marijuana seized

The Rhode Island State Police announced that on Wednesday, the HIDTA Task Force concluded a narcotics and firearms investigation and as a result of this investigation, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at the residence located at Beacon Avenue, Providence. Based on illegal contraband located and seized on scene, members of the HIDTA Task Force charged 31-year-old George Siradze of Providence with numerous firearms and narcotics offenses.

Members of the State Police HIDTA Task Force located and seized considerable amounts of illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. Specifically, members of the HIDTA Task Force seized a short-barreled, ghost.556 caliber assault rifle which had been altered in an attempt to have the rifle be capable of shooting fully automatic gunfire. Members of the HIDTA Task Force also seized a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun, eight large capacity magazines, approximately 671 grams of Cocaine, 100 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 17 kilograms of Marijuana, and materials to further distribute and repackage illegal narcotics.

Narcotics charges include: Possession With the Intent to Deliver over 1 oz of a Schedule II Controlled Substance – Cocaine, Possession of over 5 kilograms of Marijuana, and the Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance – Psylocibin Mushrooms. Weapons charges include Possession of a Machine Gun, Modification of a Semi-Automatic Weapon, Possession of a Sawed-off rifle, Possession of a Ghost Gun, Possession of Firearms While Committing Controlled Substance Violations, and Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited.

This seizure is the direct result of collaborative efforts between numerous law enforcement agencies assisting the Rhode Island State Police in their pursuit of violent, and often armed narcotics distributors. The success of these investigations is attributed to the partnerships of the Rhode Island State Police, participating members of the HIDTA Task Force, and other local and federal law enforcement agencies within the State of Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force is comprised of members from the Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police Department, Cranston Police Department, North Providence Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, and Rhode Island National Guard Counterdrug Program.
