St. Anne’s Credit Union provides relief from the cold in Fall River
St. Anne’s Credit Union is one of twenty-four Massachusetts Credit Unions that participated in the annual blanket and cold weather item drive, sponsored by the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and Cooperative Credit Union Association.
According to a post by the Credit Union, throughout January, employees and members donated nearly 90 blankets and other cold-weather items to be disbursed within the local community, with a majority of the items handmade by St. Anne’s Credit Union employee Elaine Desmarais. As part of the “Warm Hands, Warm Hearts” community outreach initiative, employees placed the items outside the fence of their Corporate Office. The strategically placed mittens, hats, blankets and scarves were available for free to members of the community without access to necessities and seeking relief from the bitter cold.
St. Anne’s has been participating since the program’s start in 2011.
