Southern New England may see first snowfall of the season with breezy conditions
Are you dreaming of a white Black Friday? Southern New England could see the first snowfall of the season with some areas of Northern Massachusetts possibly seeing several inches.
According to the National Weather Service, several inches of snow are possible across the highest terrain of western MA this evening as rain switches to snow later today. In the lower elevations, minor accumulations are also possible. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for far northwest MA.
For southern Massachusetts, showers are likely to continue today, mainly before 3pm, with wind gusts up to 25mph. New precipitation amounts are expected to be between a tenth and quarter of an inch. Otherwise, we will have cloudy skies.
Tonight, a chance of rain showers will continue before 8pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 8pm and 10pm. Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy. It is also expected to be breezy, with a west wind of 16 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 33 mph. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
