Southeastern Regional Transit Authority has announced free bus rides as part of “Try Transit” campaign
New Bedford/Fall River, Massachusetts – The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority has announced a promotion where SRTA Fixed Route and Demand Response services will be free to all customers thanks to a grant awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The free services will take place from January 1st, 2024, through June 30th, 2024.
Although primarily designed to attract new customers by easing access to services, “Try Transit” will also offer a financial reprieve to current riders during these times of high inflation.
It is expected that the savings and increased mobility offered by SRTA’s services will translate into increased spending at local shops and restaurants.
