Southeastern Massachusetts parents lose child in car crash after losing daughter in separate collision
A southeastern Massachusetts family is dealing with an unthinkable tragedy for a second time.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, 19-year-old Concetta Sherman of Yarmouth died on Friday from the same cause as her sister.
24-year-old Theresa Leary of West Warwick, RI, and formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 6, 2017, following a car accident in Pawtucket, RI.
According to Massachusetts State Trooper Leah O’Connell, on Friday, at just before 10:30 p.m., Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 6 Westbound at the 6 mile marker in Barnstable.
Upon their arrival, Troopers advised the occupant was trapped inside the vehicle.
EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the occupant as deceased.
In an update, Massachusetts State Police have confirmed this was the collision that killed Sherman.
The crash is still under investigation by State Police CARS Unit and Crime Scene Services.
