Southeastern Massachusetts man killed in car crash while on a trip with his baseball team
A college student from southeastern Massachusetts has tragically died in an apparent car crash.
According to Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley, Elon student Jackson Yelle was killed Sunday evening in what is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run accident in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he was on a weekend trip with members of the Club Baseball Team. Jackson was a junior from North Eastham, MA and the son of Scott and Andrea Yelle.
Yelle was being remembered as a funny, smart, talented, and kind man with a big heart.
A gathering of friends will take place at the North Carolina college, Monday, May 1, at 5:30 p.m. in the Sacred Space and McBride Gathering Space of the Numen Lumen Pavilion.
University community members who wish to share messages of condolence or support with Jackson’s family can drop them off any time this week at the Truitt Center front desk in the Numen Lumen Pavilion or send them to the Truitt Center at 2960 Campus Box.
