Southcoast Health issues new visitation policy to begin Monday

Southcoast Health has updated their visitation policy.

As of 3/7/22, Southcoast Health is instituting the following policy:

HOSPITAL VISITING HOURS: 10am-8pm
MATERNITY VISITING HOURS: 11am-2pm and 5pm – 8pm

All visitors must be able to do ONE of the following:
1. Show proof of COVID-19 vaccine or
2. Provide a negative COVID-19 test, provided by a laboratory and taken no more than 24 hours prior to visit or
3. Provide positive COVID-19 test taken in the past 90 days, symptom free and beyond the recommended isolation period

And:
• Show photo ID
• All visitors must remain masked for the duration of the visit

Maternity/Family Centered Unit:*
• Patients in Labor and Delivery will be allowed up to two birth partners. Patients and birth partners will be tested for COVID-19 if they can’t provide a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 24 hours prior to admission.

Surgical Patients and Same Day Surgery Center:*
• ONE visitor will be allowed to visit and/or accompany a patient

Emergency Department:*
• Visitors allowed unless status capacity is red, then at the discretion of the care team

*Exceptions:
• Visitation will not be allowed for patients with COVID-19 unless “visitor” is there as a birth partner, or present for patients at end of life care or on comfort measures only. When birth mothers are COVID-19 positive, unvaccinated birth partners may attend birth if negative test result, but would need to leave one hour after birth due to not being vaccinated

•Parents of infant and pediatric patients
•Designated support person for patients with disabilities
•Allowed by clinical teams for unique circumstances

NO visitors experiencing cough, shortness of breath, temperature over 100 degrees or other symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be allowed.
