Southcoast Health expands Obstetrics & Gynecology Services opening new office in Fall River
FALL RIVER, Mass. – On Tuesday, November 19th, Southcoast Health leaders, providers, nurses, staff and guests celebrated the grand opening of the new Southcoast Health Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) office at 300 Hanover Street, Suite 1F in Fall River, Massachusetts.
“Southcoast Health is committed to providing high-quality care and service to the people of our region and we are proud to expand our Obstetrics & Gynecology practice into Fall River. It is important to us that our community has convenient access to these essential services,” said David O. McCready, President and CEO of Southcoast Health.
This practice will be led by Southcoast Health physicians G. Uma Harinarayanan, DO, FACOG, Charlton Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Site Lead and Christian S. Pope, DO, FACOG, Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology; with Ericka Hersh, DO, FACOG joining in March 2025.
The following OB/GYN providers will also begin seeing patients in Fall River this week:

“Adding this additional location only further enhances the high-quality care and service we provide to our patients at Southcoast Health,” said Dr. Pope. “We are excited to join the already robust maternity program at Charlton Memorial Hospital.”
At the grand opening, Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan presented the team with a Mayoral Citation from the city to welcome the practice and wish them continued success.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome a new business to the City of Fall River and this addition will provide additional quality health care opportunities for women throughout our community,” Mayor Coogan stated.
Southcoast Health’s team of obstetrics & gynecology specialists are dedicated to caring for women throughout all stages of life. Including physicians, nurse midwives and nurse practitioners they use a collaborative approach to specialize in a wide range of services treating conditions of the female reproductive system and providing comprehensive pregnancy care.
“When we first opened our Obstetrics & Gynecology office in New Bedford I was delighted to bring this specialized care to our patients. Now as our community continues to grow, we are seeing an increased demand for these services. I am excited about this opportunity to expand our practice to Fall River caring for even more patients and filling a critical need in the region. Women are the cornerstone of a healthy community and Southcoast Health is committed to improving health and wellness of all women across the region,” added Dr. Harinarayanan.
In addition to the new Fall River location, Southcoast Health provides obstetrics & gynecology services in New Bedford at 543 North Street and in Wareham at 100 Rosebrook Way, ensuring access to this specialized care with a strong presence across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
