Soon you will be able to cool off at a beach, splash pad, or spray deck in Bristol County, here is what you need to know

Temperatures are warming up which means you, your friends, and your family will want to cool off. Here is a guide to do just that.

-The Veterans Memorial Pool at 339 Eastern Ave in Fall River is scheduled to open on June 22nd and close August 18th. Pool hours are from 11:15 a.m. to–6:45 p.m. seven days a week.

-The Fall River splash pads are typically open around July 1st.

-The Freetown State Forest wading pool opens on May 25th from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. until September 15th.

-Horseneck Beach in Westport is open May 25th from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Lifeguards are only available on weekends until June 15th. The daily parking fee charged through October 14th is $14 for MA residents and $40 for non-MA residents. Beach services, including lifeguard services and public restrooms, are available until September 2nd.

-Demarest Lloyd State Park in Dartmouth is open May 25th on Sunday: 8:00 am-6:00 pm, Monday – Friday: 10:00 am-6:00 pm, and Saturday: 8:00 am-6:00 pm. The daily parking fee charged through September 2nd is $12 for MA residents and $40 for non-MA residents. There are no lifeguards and the beach closes on September 2nd.

-Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days a week with free parking beginning May 25th. Lifeguards are only available on weekends until June 15th. Lifeguard coverage ends on August 18th and the beach closes on September 2nd.

-Swansea Town Beach opens on June 22nd. Parking passes and their fees for 2024 are as follows:

Resident Seasonal Passes: $25
Non- Resident Seasonal Passes: $70
Day Passes (residents and non-residents): $10

The fees listed above are also collected for parking at the paved area adjacent to the beach house for those seeking to use the grass area, playground or restroom facilities.

Gates to the parking areas open at 9 a.m. and an attendant will be on duty until 4 p.m., weather permitting. The gate closes at dusk. Any vehicles on the beach parking area at closing are subject to tagging and/or towing at the owner’s expense.

Lifeguards will be ‘on duty’ from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) Beach house facilities, including rinse stations, will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) Accessible Porta-Jon is located at Ramp #3 adjacent to the reserved Accessible Parking at the entrance to ramp. Trash receptacles have been placed at the entrance to each access ramp

The driving of any unauthorized private vehicles on the beach or any other areas not
identified as “parking area” is strictly prohibited. Those who do so will be subjected to a $100 fine.
