Somerset Police Chief credits collaboration with Seekonk, Fall River, Massachusetts State Police that led to conviction of Fall River woman, charging of 40 Johns, in disturbing sex trafficking sting
SOMERSET, Mass. — The Somerset Police has released more details after a Fall River woman pled guilty in federal court as the leader of a sex trafficking operation that targeted multiple juvenile victims in the Somerset and Fall River area.
Christy Parker, 26, of Fall River, entered a guilty plea on April 8, 2026, in U.S. District Court in Boston to charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. She is scheduled to be sentenced on July 15, 2026.
The case began on August 29, 2023, when the Somerset Police Department received information that a juvenile female was being held against her will and forced to engage in commercial sex acts at a local hotel. Investigators also learned that other juveniles were being held at the same location. Following an on-scene investigation, officers rescued multiple juvenile victims and arrested Parker and a juvenile that day. Both were initially charged with kidnapping and trafficking-related offenses.
Over the following 18 months, Somerset Police Detective Michael DeMoranville (now a Patrol Sergeant) worked closely with agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to identify additional individuals involved in the operation. The expanded investigation led to the federal arrests of Parker, Cory Primo, 42, of Fall River; Avvani Jeffers, 22, of Fall River; Tre’sean Reid, 21, of Beaufort County, South Carolina; Alexander Smalls, 25, of Beaufort County, South Carolina; and Tyreik Reid, 20, of Allendale, South Carolina. All were charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; and conspiracy.
Tyreik Reid and Cory Primo each received 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty in June 2025. Avvani Jeffers and Tre’sean Reid were sentenced in January 2026 after pleading guilty in October 2025. Alexander Smalls has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
In a statement issued after the initial arrests, then-Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy said the allegations were “truly chilling,” noting that one minor victim was forced to engage in sex acts with numerous men. “Sex trafficking is not a distant problem — it is happening right here in our neighborhoods,” he said.
Parker has a several page rap sheet of sex charges from Somerset Police alone.
Somerset Police Chief William Tedford praised the work of Sergeant DeMoranville and the multi-agency team, including Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant Brock Morrissette, Seekonk Police Detective Sergeant Nicholas Peterson, and Fall River Police Detective Cheyenne Fortin, who helped identify and charge more than 40 “Johns” connected to the case. Chief Tedford noted that while the convictions represent a significant step, the recovery process for the victims remains ongoing.
