Somerset Fire Department hosting bone marrow drive to help Superhero Alex and others battling cancer
The Somerset Fire Department will be hosting a drive-through style bone marrow drive next month.
SFD is hoping to increase awareness of childhood and blood cancers.
Those who wish to take part can pre-register online by texting “herosforAlex” to 61474. Follow the instructions.
The day of the event you will be provided with a test kit and instructions on how to do a self-swab of your cheek. Swab results will be added to the “Be the Match” bone marrow registry.
You are eligible to join the registry if you are 18-40 years old, in good health, and willing to donate blood stem cells to any patient in need.
The drive will take place on Saturday March 12th at 474 County Street in Somerset from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Register to help Superhero Alex and many more!
