Two local men are facing multiple charges after another man was seriously injured.

According to Somerset Police, on Saturday, the Somerset Police Department was contacted by an individual who was receiving medical attention at the Charlton Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Patrol Officer Quinn Fallon spoke with a man who had sustained severe facial injuries as the result of an assault and battery that occurred in the area of The Mallard establishment earlier that morning.

Due to the severity of the injuries, Somerset Police Detective James Cardella was assigned to investigate the incident. With the assistance of Somerset Patrol Officers Russell Bezanson and Luis Torres, who secured video surveillance from area businesses, Detective Cardella developed probable cause and subsequently applied for and was granted two arrest warrants for 26-year-old Brad Nickerson and 26-year-old Zachary Morrow, both of Dighton.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nickerson was arrested at his home in Dighton by Somerset Police Detective Lieutenant Jason Matos, Detective Sergeant Nicholas Davidson, and Detective James Cardella. The Dighton Police Department assisted the Somerset Police Detective Division in taking Nickerson into custody.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Morrow was arrested at a residence in Fall River by Somerset Police Detective Lieutenant Jason Matos, Detective Sergeant Nicholas Davidson, Detective James Cardella, and Detective Donald Cormier. The Fall River Police Department assisted the Somerset Police Detective Division in taking Morrow into custody.

Both Morrow and Nickerson were charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Strangulation or Suffocation.

According to court records, Nickerson and Morrow both pled not guilty at Wednesday’s arraignment in Fall River District Court and posted $10,000 surety bond/$1,000.00 cash bail.

They both have a pretrial hearing scheduled for April 30th.
