A local business has announced that they have already closed their storefront.

Pickled Deli, a popular, family-owned deli and catering spot located at 128 Slades Ferry Avenue in Somerset, opened in April 2020 aiming to bring a fresh, New York-style deli experience to the area with classic sandwiches, salads, and some creative twists.

On Thursday, owner Angela Celli announced on social media that they have closed.

“After a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision to close our Pickled Deli storefront. Rising overhead made it harder to keep the doors open in a way that made sense, but what hasn’t changed is how grateful we are for every single one of you who walked through our doors, shared a meal with us, and supported this little dream.

“Serving this community has truly meant the world to me. Thank you for the smiles, the conversations, the loyalty, and the love.

“As many of you know, I’m also stepping more fully into my role as a Food Safety Specialist — helping other food businesses grow safely and confidently. It’s an exciting new direction and something I’m really passionate about.

“And don’t worry — this doesn’t mean the food goes away. We’re exploring commissary kitchen options so we can continue catering, special orders, and pop-ups without the heavy storefront overhead. Same heart, same flavors — just a different way of serving you.”
