Some luck from a store clerk and a State Lottery scratch ticket turned lucrative for a Massachusetts woman
Thanks to a store clerk and a State Lottery scratch ticket, a local woman is a little richer.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Kellie Demers of Somerset, and previously Fall River, won a $200 a week for life prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$200 a Week for Life” $2 instant ticket game.
Demers chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $160,000 (before taxes).
She told the clerk to pick a winner. Mission accomplished.
The winning ticket was purchased at Correia & Sons Market at 500 Read Street in Somerset. The store will receive a $2,080 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
$200 a Week for Life has 3 grand prizes remaining.
