Some flooding possible on south coast as Florence becomes category 4 hurricane
Our area is beginning to see some impact from hurricane Florence.
According to the National Weather Service, the combination of higher tides thanks to the new moon, persistent easterly winds, and swells beginning to build from Florence, some minor splash-over and coastal flooding is possible with tonight’s high tides.

.Pockets of Splashover Along The South Coast This Evening…
* LOCATIONS…South Coastal Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
* TIMING…Around the time of high tide, between 8PM and 11PM.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS…Minor splashover with the chance for
some typically prone locations having slight inundation.
